About Cilmor

Cilmor Winery was founded by Cecil Morgan in the early 1990s. A farmer, renowned businessman and visionary, Cecil had a passion for wine-making and grand plans for Cilmor.

Sadly, Cecil did not live to see the completion of the impressive Cilmor Winery building – but his memory, vision, and passion lives on today at Cilmor in our philosophy and practices.

We craft a wide range of quality wines from the 22 different varietals that are currently being cultivated in our vineyards. Our expansive cellar has the current capacity to process up to twelve thousand tons of grapes, with a storage capacity of around 10 million litres. The quality of our wine production is assured by our state-of-the-art technology and the mastery of our consummate winemaker, Quintin van der Westhuizen.

We currently have approximately 100 permanent employees and their families benefiting from our support initiatives. This includes our pre-primary school for the children of our employees, after-school care, feeding schemes, transportation for our workers, school clothes and a mobile clinic where our employees can receive healthcare.
